Google Play: Optimization of app installations to speed up future installations
A new feature for the Google Play Store is currently being distributed to all Android users, which will help make future app installations even faster. The function "Optimization of the app installation" can be found after a short info dialog at the start of the Google Play Store in its settings as a new switch and activated directly.
The function does the following: Your phone tells the Play Store which parts of a freshly downloaded app are of interest to you first and which may be used very late or not at all. According to Google, depending on how many people use the feature, future installation processes should be significantly accelerated by the information collected. However, no personal data would be collected, such as your name, email addresses, or other. Also, content uploaded or downloaded by you in an app is not relevant to the function. In the end, Google wants to use the data to ensure that the most pertinent parts of an app for users are always downloaded and installed first.
