Railway Training Institute Fee Structure 2024/2025

The Railway Training Institute (RTI) is a testament to the rich history and commitment to quality education in East Africa's railway sector. Established in 1956, RTI has continuously evolved and adapted to the changing needs of the railway industry. This article delves into the institute's journey, its course offerings, and, most importantly, the comprehensive fee structure for the academic year 2023/2024

History of Railway Training Institute

RTI's origins can be traced back to 29 June 1956, when it was inaugurated by His Honor Sir Fredrick Crawford, the Deputy Governor of Kenya at the time. Its primary objective was to develop human resources for the then East African Railways and Harbours. Over the years, RTI has undergone significant transformations, becoming wholly owned by the Kenya Railways Corporation in 1976.

In 1988, RTI identified the need for commercial courses due to the underutilization of its facilities. This step led to formal recognition and registration by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology in 1990. As the demand for efficient transport in Kenya continues to grow, RTI aims to position itself as a center of excellence in training transport and logistics management through its Strategic Plan for 2014-2019.

RTI offers diverse courses catering to different fields, ensuring a comprehensive education for its students. These courses are organized into various schools, each specializing in a specific area:
