Samsung S21 Price In Kenya and Technical sheets: Buying Guide 2021

"Accessible," we grant you, is a bit exaggerated. But if we keep in mind that ksh 50,000 separates the Galaxy S21 from the S21 Ultra, the term is not so shameful. Significantly since this year, Samsung has somewhat revised its pricing policy.

Unlike last year, there is no 4G model on the horizon. Samsung is moving (on the high-end anyway) to 5G and adjusts the sliders accordingly. And the result is most pleasant: the Galaxy S21 5G starts the auction at between KSH 115,119 to Ksh 139,000

Design

the S21, therefore, enjoys a new design compared to its predecessor. This year, Samsung is particularly highlighting the contour of its device. The screen of the Galaxy S21 is perfectly flat this year. Where the Galaxy S20 was still risking a slight curvature (which the Galaxy S21 Ultra takes over), this "entry-level" model (for a Galaxy S, that is) opts for an approach rather reminiscent of the S20 FE. This does not particularly move us. The grip is perfect, and only the volume strip seems to us placed a little too high to reach it from the thumb easily. Everything else is perfectly studied to use your phone with one hand — which is still rare enough to be specified.

For the past two years, Samsung has capitalized on an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor built into the screen. The Galaxy S21 does not do differently and has an all-new model much more comprehensive than the previous generation. Unlocking is fast, and thumb detection is effective.

Finally, the Galaxy S21 has two speaker grilles. One on the lower edge, to the right of the USB-C port, and the other symmetrically on the high acidity (smaller size).

Screen

Samsung cultivates some expertise in the design of AMOLED panels with striking contrast and very bright colors. Of course, the Galaxy S21 is no exception. But unlike the Galaxy S21 Ultra (or the very recent Xiaomi Mi 11, sold cheaper ...), the Galaxy S21 can not display a WQHD + definition (which would be slightly exaggerated on a 6.1-inch screen). Therefore, we are satisfied with a Full HD +, but on a dynamic frequency of 48 to 120 Hz depending on the content displayed on the screen.

Audio

We don't have much to say about the audio part of the Samsung Galaxy S21. Its two speakers produce a powerful and rather balanced sound, which allows you to listen to podcasts, watch movies and series, and play video games. Music lovers will also be satisfied with it, keeping in mind that a very high volume will tend to produce saturation.

Compatible with Bluetooth 5.0, the Galaxy S21 supports SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC audio codecs. In the settings, we will also find various parameters relating to the Dolby Atmos (an equalizer, in particular).

Performances

With its Exynos 2100, the Galaxy S21 has a hard time keeping up with Chinese and American models equipped with Snapdragon 888. It is now recorded: Samsung's new SoC does better on many points than its predecessor. But the chip remains less efficient and more energy-intensive than its American competitor.

 Price:

Jumia @ ksh 89,000

Jumia @ ksh 98,000

Jumia  @ ksh 100,000

Jumia @ksh 81,980

Software

The Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with Android 11 through the One UI 3.2 overlay. The gadget furthermore embeds the Widevine L1 DRM necessary for playing videos in HD on the different platforms.

Autonomy

the Galaxy S21 held precisely 25 hours of charge. Over this period, you will be able to enjoy a screen time of 6:55.

Photography

The Galaxy S21 has the same photosensors as the S20. A wide-angle of 12 megapixels, a second of 64 megapixels used as a hybrid zoom, and an ultra-wide-angle of 12 megapixels.

Video

The Galaxy S21 is capable of shooting in 8K at 24 frames per second. A possibility that impresses, technically, but which can not be enjoyed in good conditions, disables any form of stabilization of the image. In addition, the weight of the files will quickly exhaust your storage space which, remember, is limited to 256 GB at most.

Conclusion

The Galaxy S21 is an excellent new standard at Samsung. If the novelties are meagre than last year, it is comfortable in everything and enjoys a rather correct autonomy for a smartphone of this size (and 120 Hz screen).

We can, of course, regret the absence of a charger in the box, especially the disappearance of the micro SD port that caps the storage at 256 GB at best. But if all this is not important to you, then the Galaxy S21 is a good vintage.
